General commentsThe Gauley River National Recreational Area (GRNRA) includes 25 miles of the Gauley River and 5 miles of the Meadow River. Includes 11,000 acres of which about 3, 000 acres are owned by the National Park Service as of 7/1/11. Panther Mountain Road Road (CR 22) mostly runs along much of the northern boundary of the recreational area but usually 300-j500 feet above the Gauley River.
